The game's version of Riku has a much more boyish appearance than his Final Mix incarnation, though his appearance is based on his Final Mix design. He wears a red shirt with a black stripe on it, and wears black pants and shoes. His hair is spiked and styled in a manner similar to Aerith Gainsborough's in Final Fantasy VII. He wears an orange scarf and his bangs are slicked back. He has a similar hairstyle to Roxas in Kingdom Hearts II and Sora's in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. He is also wearing a black bandana.
Riku's clothing in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix is more detailed, and he wears a black jacket with a blue shirt underneath. His eyes are more defined and his bangs are slicked back. His clothing in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix also features a printed design on the sleeves, which is absent in the original.
